We may be able to support other optic frequencies on single mode fiber (CWDM, DWDM, 1550nm, BiDi, etc…) – please email us to inquire. Note that in these cases the member is required to provide the optics for both ends from a mutually agreeable supplier, the member is responsible for procuring spares, the optics must be programmed to be compatible with the NWAX equipment, and in the future if NWAX switches hardware platforms all responsibility for getting optics compatible with the new switches falls on the member.

You need an ASN, an account in PeeringDB.com, equipment in or backhaul to the desired colo, and compliant media.

At a high level, here are the steps.

1. Send an email to info at nwax.net with:

  • Your ASN,
  • The name of the colo where you want to connect,
  • How many ports,
  • The speed of the ports, and
  • Whether you would like to use LACP.

2. Wait for the service order from us, then sign and return it.

3. We will send you an LOA to order the cross-connect.

4. When the cross-connect is complete, verify your light levels, and share them with us via email to noc at nwax.net.

5. Watch for a welcome message from our IXP Manager system, and set up your user account.

6. We will let you know when the port setup is complete. You can connect to the route server per the instructions in Documentation.

7. If there is a fee associated with your port speed, you will receive a member payment onboarding and contact preferences form. Complete and email the form to finance at nwax.net.
